Our Mission: Established in 1961 the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) is the one international wildlife conservation organization dedicated to promoting conditions suitable for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and related wildlife to sustain our sport hunting tradition and outdoor heritage.
Charles E. Bechtel Chapter History
The first Sportsmen's Banquet was held at the Riveredge in September 1978. The committee members were Dr. James Parker, Charles E. Bechtel, Bill Mactavish and Mr. Shirk. Past chairmen were Dr. Parker, Dick Hill, Bob Coleman, and currently the chairman is John Cave. The Spring Field Day has been held every year since 1984. Luke Bollinger started the Sponsors Banquet in 1987. The Chapter Shoot was started by Dick Shuman in 2003.
